The 20th century was a time of rapid artistic change and development and when traditional concepts were challenged. The role of the artist, the relationship between representation and significance, and the growing relevance of largely visual images were considered and redefined. One of the most famous and influential biographer in the 20th century is Walker Evans. Evans was born on November 3,1903. He was most famous and known for his work for the farm security administration (FSA) documenting the effects of the great depression. His work and crystal clear photographs of American life between the world wars had also made him famous. Those elegant photographs inspired a great generation or artists. Evans was physically small in size and was not so tall; which was an advantage that allowed him to take photographs before anyone noticed or saw him. he looked for some thing extra than the esthetic or the industrial factors of photography. He aimed for visual statements alluding to tales and values beyond the literal or the creative.
